![]() I don't want to have to spend weeks of frustration learning a new system. I've been using Photoshop and ACR since the mists of time and am so used to them now that I could use them in my sleep. Is there? I've used Canon's DPP and don't like it at all. Plenty of other software out that there can process your files in their original form. I'd save myself the time and disk space, and not make a DNG in the first place. My biggest regret is that when I archive my photos I now need to find space for the original CR2 files, Thank goodness dual pixel (on my Canon 5d IV) is a waste of time, as the raw files would be double size if I'd chosen to use it. The DNG files and the processed TIFF files which, at 16-bit, are not exactly small. My biggest regret is that when I archive my photos I now need to find space for the original CR2 files,Ĭould you not delete these once you have a DNG copy? Ironic that DNG converter is an Adobe program. ![]() As it batch processes all my files I just set it going, go and have a cup of tea, then pick up where I left off. I've resigned to using DNG converter and putting one more step in the process. Sorry to have not answered your question, but a good therapeutic whinge always makes me feel better. My biggest regret is that when I archive my photos I now need to find space for the original CR2 files, the DNG files and the processed TIFF files which, at 16-bit, are not exactly small. For this reason (and a few others), Adobe is not on my list of favourite companies either. I probably would have sprung for CC if I'd known I was only going to get two years out of CS6. I don't remember Adobe saying then that it will be limited raw file support in a couple of year's time. I knew this was on the horizon but I feel peed off about it as it's doesn't seem that long since I stumped up a lot of money for a standalone copy of CS6. Just wondered what other people are doing in terms of workflows and programs? Have I missed a more simple method? I've used PS for so long now that I don't want to waste those skills by migrating to another program and may move over to CC but it seems too soon after buying. I've played with the DNG converter which adds another step to my workflow and I'm wasting time converting poor shots that are to be deleted afterwards. I considered shooting raw and jpg (which I do in some cases anyway) but for more serious work I don't want the camera slowed down by shooting both. I now have a folder full of raw files and have no way of quickly previewing / deleting those which are no good. If they wanted to go down this path they should have allowed each copy say, five years of updates, on a per user basis. ![]() So I've just acquired a Pen-F and my copy of CS6 doesn't support its raw files whereas it does my EM5-2.
